Don’t forget your hate signs when you go

Place them on your car so everyone will know

Just who you hate and what you stand for…

Making others less so you can be more…

Cloak them in causes that many support

Sparing yourself all the snarky retorts

Sit in delusion…and say you never knew

That voting your beliefs stripped others’ rights too

But strip them they did, and now here we are

You are refusing the blame and it’s gone too far

An Untimely Passing

They say only the good die young…and some days I think that’s true.

Like the day that you were taken…an injustice through and through.

You gave your whole life to others…taking so little for yourself.

You gave even when you were hurting…and it took its toll on your health

You deserved a happy retirement… surrounded by those you love

Instead, you will have to watch over them… from somewhere up above

I wish your spirit peace now…a long rest that’s way overdue.

I hope you know how much…so many loved and cared about you.

Presage

The older women… the ones who remember…and their daughters who grew up hearing the first-hand accounts…

Try to warn the younger women…and their daughters who bask freely in the fruits of their foremother’s labor and suffrage…about the urgent need, and the lengths to which they must go… to defend and protect our hard-won rights.

Too often the warnings are rebuffed or fall on deaf ears…the younger generations feeling they are over-blown and unwarranted.

They utter ridiculous things like…

“That will never happen”

“That can’t happen…here…in today’s America”

The thing is… it did happen…here…in America…to women.

It’s still…happening…here…in today’s America…to women!

Roe was overturned in today’s America!

“Me Too” and “Times Up” should indicate to anyone paying attention that the fight is far from over.

Everything that can be done…can be undone.

Women take heed…you must stay informed and vigilant here…now…in today’s America!
