A Call to Arms

They say silence is golden…

I say…sometimes it’s RED!

Like rage over the spilled blood of innocents

And justice remaining unserved.

I say… evil creeps under the cover of darkness

And wickedness wins when the good stay quiet while failing to act!

I say… we strip malevolence bare and drag it into the burning sun where even those who choose not to look would be forced to see

I say… now is not the time for silence.

  1. We wear our silence like a security blanket, hiding from the monsters under the bed.
We need to be brave, to take a stand, consequences be damned.
Maybe we’ll find the monsters were only in our heads…

I default to quiet observation. I have been forcing myself to be louder. It’s hard at times, especially when I’m around my family. I can’t risk putting them in danger with my words even if it is them I would be speaking up for…

    1. Sweet Matt, I get it! It is scary. I’m scared every day. It’s often dangerous to speak up. It shouldn’t be but it is. I have been silent out of fear when I wanted to scream. I speak in my writing space and I scream at the ballot box. I’m on the look out for opportunities to do more whatever that might be. Hugs
