Don’t forget your hate signs when you go

Place them on your car so everyone will know

Just who you hate and what you stand for…

Making others less so you can be more…

Cloak them in causes that many support

Sparing yourself all the snarky retorts

Sit in delusion…and say you never knew

That voting your beliefs stripped others’ rights too

But strip them they did, and now here we are

You are refusing the blame and it’s gone too far

The older women… the ones who remember…and their daughters who grew up hearing the first-hand accounts…

Try to warn the younger women…and their daughters who bask freely in the fruits of their foremother’s labor and suffrage…about the urgent need, and the lengths to which they must go… to defend and protect our hard-won rights.

Too often the warnings are rebuffed or fall on deaf ears…the younger generations feeling they are over-blown and unwarranted.

They utter ridiculous things like…

“That will never happen”

“That can’t happen…here…in today’s America”

The thing is… it did happen…here…in America…to women.

It’s still…happening…here…in today’s America…to women!

Roe was overturned in today’s America!

“Me Too” and “Times Up” should indicate to anyone paying attention that the fight is far from over.

Everything that can be done…can be undone.

Women take heed…you must stay informed and vigilant here…now…in today’s America!

You’re No Daisy at All

There you are with your grand attempt to get my attention…

You address me loudly from across the room as if we were long lost friends.

You think… knowing my name and our brief history of casual cordiality entitle you to some sort of deference… it does not!

You made your position clear when you removed the loose connection that allowed your beliefs to be questioned and you to have to defend them.

Your unwanted projection of nicety was really just, your passive aggressive way of saying “ha ha I won, and by the way, how are you dealing with it?”.

But I know who you are…

And I know what you did…

You haven’t won.

Your cognitive dissonance blinds you to those you’ve betrayed

and to what you’ve truly lost.

We are not…and never will be…friends.
