The older women… the ones who remember…and their daughters who grew up hearing the first-hand accounts…
Try to warn the younger women…and their daughters who bask freely in the fruits of their foremother’s labor and suffrage…about the urgent need, and the lengths to which they must go… to defend and protect our hard-won rights.
Too often the warnings are rebuffed or fall on deaf ears…the younger generations feeling they are over-blown and unwarranted.
They utter ridiculous things like…
“That will never happen”
“That can’t happen…here…in today’s America”
The thing is… it did happen…here…in America…to women.
It’s still…happening…here…in today’s America…to women!
Roe was overturned in today’s America!
“Me Too” and “Times Up” should indicate to anyone paying attention that the fight is far from over.
Everything that can be done…can be undone.
Women take heed…you must stay informed and vigilant here…now…in today’s America!

There are none so blind as those who will not see, so deaf as those who will not hear and none so dumb (read stupid) well, ‘nuff said. My younger women friends thought I was being alarmist and just a touch embarrassing. And this is just the first six months. It gives one pause.

I think they just have no frame of reference because the rights and freedoms we enjoy they have had all their lives so they don’t know what it’s like not to have them. They honestly believe they can’t be taken away. I guess it’s up to us to educate them. Sadly… I’m so tired of those who won’t get educated and take part. 😦
