Crocs n Socks Rockin

Cheers team tiny peppers it’s Nano Poblano day 26. I think I am picking up wind on this down hill slalom. This believe it or don’t, is one of my favorite looks. I love love love rocking my crocs n socks. I know, I know, I’ve heard all the negative things people say about crocs, and croc wearers, but I’m here to tell you, they’re all false. They’re comfy and cool like walking on air. When it gets cold you just add socks. Win win. 🙂 Not to mention the fashion statement aspect. They’re colorful, and durable, and wonderful. That’s it for today cheerpeppers, see you all again tomorrow.

Things that Make Me Smile

It was a hard morning. I woke up with a stuffy head, post nasal drip from a sinus infection dripped down the back of my throat. My attempts to remove it nearly caused me to hork each time. I readied myself for work slowly, cause that’s all I could do. I am grateful for my job. Being new-ish.. just passed my 90 days… I could not call in sick on a holiday. That would look entirely suspicious. It’s the first Thanksgiving in 8 years that I’ve had to be away from my wife. Not being a drama queen… I’m grateful. I know that there are so many couples that have differing work schedules and don’t get to spend holidays together. We used to be one of those couples.  I knew when I accepted this position that the deli is not closed on holidays. So it goes without saying that I would be expected to work them along side my coworkers. 🙂 Luckily my managers are awesome and upon seeing how bad I was feeling sent me home early and told me not to come back until I was feeling better. Again.. grateful. Lucky. I came home to my wife who had not only single handedly cooked Thanksgiving dinner, but who also installed a new bathroom floor while dinner was cooking.  I managed to set the table and put away dishes.  I kept her company as she worked. Grateful… we always pick up the slack when time and well being permits. On my way to work Thanksgiving morning I listened to a new cd… Adele 25. When I exited the freeway and stopped at the light there were a slew of bicyclists that whizzed in front of me. A huge smile beamed across my face. Despite how I was feeling.. it was so cool to see the cyclists out riding.. having fun..doing something… on Thanksgiving day.  Bright colors and wheels spinning…. just made me smile.  I can’t explain it really… it just was. I am glad no matter what I can still find happiness in simple things.  I had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner with good friends and family, and I will sleep well knowing my managers have my back and I will have time to heal. I may not feel well tomorrow still, but always I am grateful for the gifts in my life. What are you grateful for? What makes you smile. Happy Thanksgiving. xo
