Just a tear
Really no big deal
Just a tear
Something I don’t feel
Just a tear
One nobody sees
Just a tear
Wiped away with ease
Just a tear
Really nothing at all
Just one tear
As the final curtain falls

A tangled web we weave
In fleeting moments of anger
We build what I call
Bridges across time
Endless efforts to secure
The very thing that we endanger
Leaves us breaking away
To keep our frame of mind
Fearing loss of independence
We’re quick to take a stand
Wounding ever fragile egos
One really must be kind
Suddenly it’s later
We’re walking hand in hand
Wandering through the years
Over bridges across time

It’s a cold morning at the bus stop but I don’t mind…
Moments ago, my cousin and I sipped sweet hot coffee and ate scrumptious pastries just like grown-ups at the Donut Hut before school.
Going hungry at lunch was a price worth paying for 30 minutes of tender coming of age connection and deliciousness.
