laughnowI am first and foremost a poet. I began writing at the age of 12 in an effort to express my heart.  Over the years my writing has changed dramatically.   As I face the fall of my life it has become important to me to have meaningful conversations and interactions about things that matter to my heart. So for now, it is my intention that this blog be about just that.  In addition to my poetry, I plan to post about every day things in life that effect us all. In this way I will express my heart and hopefully encourage my readers to express theirs as well.  Words sometimes spur action, and action can bring about change…we are all in this together.

Facts about me.

I am a cat lover.

I am a proud Atheist and I object to (In God We Trust) being put on our money and buildings in the 1950s.  I object to the changing of our Pledge of Allegiance to include “one nation under God”, in place of its original wording “One nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”.  It was never intended to be about God!  Our country was founded on religious freedom and freedom FROM religion. We are NOT a christian nation! I am offended daily by the insertion of GOD into politics, law, and life in general. Organized religion is for sheep! I am a Rhino! I am however spiritual. I believe in LOVE. Nature is my church.

I subscribe to the theory that if we are not part of the solution we may very well be part of the problem!

  2. Well I must confess it is not as time consuming as it sounds. LOL I am not prolific by any means, but I am working on it. I write poetry when it comes. I try to write articles more often, and I update my other blog whenever it strikes me. Putting out meaningful content on a regular basis is something that I am attempting to get used to. It’s been a struggle at times. 🙂 So thanks. 🙂 I will be visiting your site regularly now.

    1. You are so welcome. I truly did enjoy it! I loved that in your vision of the future smoking was banned… giggles… I would so ban it too, and that obesity was mostly cured..albeit at a high price of freedom..(I hear that the big pharma is working hard on drugs that will cure obesity and that they’re close), I also liked that you couldn’t just have kids. Maybe that sounds awful…but I have seen so many children born to people who shouldn’t have them, and so many children abused…and your idea of having to apply for them…would definitely cure whether or not they were truly wanted. No child should have to be unwanted. 🙂 Tracking devices…hmmm they are coming…already here really…for government agents and people with special clearances… I love that your couple was inter-racial..sadly still quite taboo in some parts of the U.S. I loved that Dr. McKnight was so down to earth… I imagine that’s just the kind of doctor you are. 🙂 I also loved the ending… I’m a sucker for a happy ending. I really just loved it! I shared it on my facebook too. I’m so happy if I can bring you a smile.. you deserve it! Hugs

There’s so much you’ve written above that I agree with – especially the whole religion bit. Ack! I also am a feminist, and an abuse survivor but I think I’m over it.     1. Nice to meet you Alison, virtually anyway. We would also like to travel so I am living vicariously through your travels cause clearly I am not as brave as you are. 🙂 I think all religions are trying to access the same source energy, they just call it different things, and often what matters to organized religions is financial gain, dominance, and control. I think because we come from a collective and this might be the only plain where we experience individuality, that we have a need and tendency to congregate. It quite simply feels like home. Sadly, that need and tendency is so often taken advantage of by the unscrupulous. 🙂

      1. I think that’s exactly what it is – the unscrupulous taking advantage of the universal need to awaken, to know the truth of being. I think every religion has the same message at its core. And then becomes a religion when the unscrupulous and power hungry take over.
