Delta Dawn, Angie Baby, I Am Woman, we belted out as teenagers up in your room. We were ready for life to be different, better, than what we had come to know as normal. I wanted equality, empowerment, women’s rights, and I thought you did too.
Perhaps like Angie we were living in a world of make believe?
Since then our paths could not have been more divergent.
You support ideologies that would take women back 100 years and I support the opposite.
I miss those teenagers their whole lives in front of them. We were on the same page for a minute it seemed.
Like much of America, so divided and polarized now, I wonder if there is any chance of opposing sides finding common ground and coming together for the good of the nation.
Well maaaybeee…

Take Heart, Dani, and keep the faith. The pendulum can only ever swing in one direction for so long. 3>

So sorry, that was meant to be a heart, not a tiny little bikini! 😀

I bet this applies to so many of us. We try to do the right thing but sometimes we fail. We (the world) are all so divided right now, its very sad and scary. Love what you wrote. Keep the faith sweet Dani.

Thank you sweet Cindy. I wrote this to a friend I have known since we were in middle school. We are now on opposite sides of the political spectrum. It makes my heart sad. I know so many people are going through this sort of thing right now and it is scary and sad.
